Ex-MORBID ANGEL Members' Band INCUBUS: 1987 Demo Available For Download
May 31, 2007The 1987 three-song demo cassette by Florida's INCUBUS, featuring Mike Browning (MORBID ANGEL, NOCTURNUS, AFTER DEATH) on drums, Sterling Von Scarborough (MORBID ANGEL) on bass, and Gino Marino (AFTER DEATH) on guitar, has been made available for download at the Bang! Bang! metal demo blog.
According to the blog post, "As the story goes, Mike caught Trey Azagthoth kissing his girlfriend, and peppered the lava-loving guitarist with punches. Mike left MORBID ANGEL with frustrated Sterling in tow, and they immediately formed INCUBUS — bringing back songs that Sterling had played in an earlier lineup with Skellator of HALLOWS EVE. Meanwhile Trey retreated to North Carolina, where he recruited David Vincent and resumed a new version of MORBID ANGEL...So it's no surprise that INCUBUS uses the same grow formula as early MORBID ANGEL, but cultivates a different patch of swampwater."
Bang! Bang! is the weblog of Ian Christe (author of "Sound of the Beast" and host on Sirius Satellite Radio's Hard Attack),and is dedicated to "celebrating the tradition of freely-traded heavy metal demo cassettes and preserving the pioneer spirit of the underground, one magnetic particle at a time."
